HOW DOES SONGFINCH WORK?

Earning an income with Songfinch is simple. We pass you song opportunities and you create and get paid. More on the steps below:

1. We send you a song request via email
You have 24 hours to review the details and accept or deny the request.

2. You create the custom song
You have 4 days to write, record, and submit the song.

3. You are paid
Songfinch reviews the song and payment is sent out upon acceptance.

HOW DOES SONGFINCH COMPARE?

Each song generally takes our artists 1-3 hours to complete and pays a minimum of $100 allowing Songfinch to become more than just a side hustle.

One Songfinch song payment equates to:

Rideshare: ~5-10 hours
Barista: ~5-10 hours

Pandora: ~76,900 streams
Spotify: ~30,300 streams
Amazon Music: ~25,000 streams
YouTube Music: ~12,500 streams
Apple Music: ~10,000 streams

Extra earning potential with Songfinch:

~20% of our songs receive gratuity (+$35 per song avg)
~10% of songs order an extra verse (+$40 per song)
~30% of songs added to streaming (+$5 per song)

ARTIST COMMUNITY FAQ

  • Each song pays $100 upon acceptance of the completed song. About 30% of our orders add a third verse, which bumps your pay up to $132.50 for the song. About 20% of our orders receive artist gratuity averaging ~$35. You’ll make at least $100 per song with the ability to earn more depending on the specific opportunity, customer, etc.

  • Based on feedback from our artist community, it generally varies from 30 minutes to 3-4 hours depending on the request, genre, and artist. Our songs don’t need to be professionally mixed and mastered — just a good enough mix that does not distract from the listening experience.

  • You may occasionally re-use instrumentals and/or melodies from song to song to make it a bit easier. We do require original lyrics for each song, so our customer’s experience is the best it can be, and the song is true to their request and story.

  • The artist retains 100% ownership of the master and publishing rights to all songs created for Songfinch. Feel free to reuse any instrumentals, melodies, lyrics, and other elements from any songs you create with us for your personal projects.

  • Our artist agreement is non-exclusive and doesn't lock you in for any amount of time. You can take breaks any time by marking yourself inactive on our platform. You may also choose to discontinue working with us at any time.

  • You don’t have to choose just one. When artists can work within multiple genres, it expands the number of opportunities that align with their expertise. We do not want you to try to make other genres that fall outside your ability, but if you are able to make multiple genres, let us know and we’ll make sure you’re in the mix for all the opportunities you fit.

  • Each artist’s experience varies depending on the type of requests we receive. Artist availability and capacity also factor heavily along with past order history. We have artists that get 1-2 songs a day and we have some that receive 1-2 a month. If you’re on our platform, you’ll be considered for all opportunities that fit — and if you deliver good songs, we’ll keep the requests coming.
